Regina Marie is a bay area based photographer, with a special interest in fashion, fantasy, fine art, editorial and portrait photography. Regina grew up in California just east of the bay area, and found much of her earlier artistic inspiration in the creative spirit of punk culture; from music to fashion to iconography. She was also inspired by her travels to Japan at a young age and need to explore the rebellion of the hauntingly rural land that surrounded her growing up. Regina's passion for photography began when she was 17 after taking a photography class at a junior college. She started with dark room photography, shooting lot's of abandoned houses and spooky country roads, mostly in black and white. Over the past few years she studied at The Academy of Art University in San Francisco. She has continued to develop her aesthetics and expand her skills, allowing her technique to delve into digital mediums. Regina's most recent works exhibit stunning glimpses into realms of dark and whimsical fashion photography; including editorials highlighting fantasy fashion or inspired by the genius works of contemporary artists and film makers, such as Lars van Trier. Her style always conveys a story, and she is never shy to explore the darker and more mysterious qualities of beauty. Regina currently works as a freelance photographer, and resides in Berkeley, California with her boyfriend and 2 kitties.
