James Grant is a British fashion, editorial and lifestyle photographer with over nine years experience in the industry. Trained in traditional photographic techniques, he now pursues his work through the digital medium.

James began his photographic career as a studio assistant for Southern Light Studios and Spaced Studios in London, while studying art, photography and fashion at the University of West England. Continuing his education, James acquired a bachelor’s degree in photography at Solent Southampton University, simultaneously furthering his career as a freelance photographer and photographic assistant.

In early 2008, James set out for a photographic expedition around Australasia and South East Asia.
Upon arriving in Cambodia in late 2008, he fell in love with the culture, landscapes and architecture, and found the perfect natural light for his unique photographic style.
James spent two years based in Phnom Penh, working as the head photographer and art director of La Reine fashion magazine, photo editor and photographer for AsiaLIFE Cambodia Magazine, and a regular contributor to Travel+Leisure SEA Magazine. For 18 months of his time in Phnom Penh, James was also a lecturer in Fashion Photography at Limkokwing University.

James has shot advertising photography for several fashion labels, including Wanderlust and Jasmine, brands such as Tiger Beer and the official campaign for Cambodia Fashion Week and advertising for amongst many others in his client list. He has been published internationally in magazines such as Australian Vogue, New York Times Magazine, Condé Traveler and InStyle Magazine amongst others.

In late 2011, James returned to London, where he attends London College of Fashion on a Master of Arts programme in Fashion Photography. He continues to work as a freelance photographer, harmonising his fine art training and fashion experience for a dynamic style of photography.
