★★BIG NEWS 11/6/2014★★ - I was asked to headline another fashion show for in San Francisco which was organized by RAW Natural Born Artists. The event too place at 1015 Folsom St. and a venue bustling with over 50 artists, and 1000 expected attendees. I decided to take a different approach from the "Female Warrior" themed fashion show I created for RAW's REVOLUTION Showcase in San Jose

I chose to push my creativity with a softer, romantic ambiance for the RAW's CURRENT event in San Francisco. This go around, I wanted my ornate metal work to be the focus of this fashion show. As the beautiful ballerinas made their way down the catwalk adorned with welded stainless steel tutus, clad in leather and glistening latex, the duality of strength and vulnerability materialized for a spectacle for all so see. We choreographed the ballet to Vangelis's "Love Theme" from "Blade Runner." This proved to be quite the challenge as each tutu had to follow the principle of both form follows function. Each of the five tutu's were painstakingly hand bent and hand formed from stainless and mild steel, then carefully TIG welded together. Certainly a challenge on it's own.

The opportunities presented by RAW Natural Born Artist helped initiate the momentum behind KATRAA's movement for 2015. Little by little things are happening for KATRAA. Keep your eyes peeled for NEW designs, collaborations and fashion shows to come. Thank you to all whom made my fashion show such a success. All the awesome models: Melissa Lyn - Mayhem # 1903814, Amy Vosters - Mayhem # 1999274, Lauren Blankenship and Lacy Samayoa. To the MUAH Artists: Marina Saint Clair and Apocolips Artistry for all your talent, making the models look absolutely stunning. To all my loved ones and amazing family for your continued support and encouragement. You help make this journey of mine so amazing...thank you from the bottom of my heart...

Now for a little history on KATRAA. This venture all began about five years ago while looking around at my metal sculpture in my fabrication shop. I though how amazing it would be to somehow meld my passions for metal, with leather and latex apparel. Little by little, I began to put my ideas and vision in motion, and out of my flames of creation, KATRAA was born. With my back round consisting of years in the trades and the multitude of artistic passions I have pursued, fashion design is now added to that list. I wanted to bring my unique skill set to the table, and share my creativity with the people around the world.

After teaching myself how to operate an industrial sewing machine, pattern layout and design, I decided to take on a very ambitious project. In the fall of 2008 and made my first pair of couture leather pants. This project took weeks to complete, but the response from people made me realize that I really had something unique here.
Through my clothing designs I am able to transform my visions into something tangible with a unique story behind it. My creations are a duality of dark and light, vulnerable and confident, yin and yang. KATRAA has refracted the alluring elements of leather and latex, juxtaposing ornate metalwork through their own idiosyncratic fashion prism. The resulting essence are both high fashion designs which are both contrasting and complimentary. Created solely to accentuate the beauty of the physical form, while empowering the strength within. Though there are underlying themes in all my designs, I want to change, growth and expression to remain constant. My clothing is NOT gender biased and anybody who possesses the courage "Express Their Soul", need not look further. I have long desired to create clothing which is specially tailored and with an aesthetic that resonates with ones soul. Just like a piece of art. Embracing a harmony of vulnerability and confidence, and EMPOWERING strength and defiance. Not only by objective assessments of appearance but a transcendence of the human condition.

Self expression, and being true to yourself are key elements to happiness. There is no one like you in the world, and only can do what you do, the way you do it. We all possessing gifts and talents and the world needs you to share it. If you don't we won't have the opportunity to experience the amazing you. That's why I have made the decision to put my heart and soul into KATRAA. My mission is to utilize KATRAA as a conduit to reach out to others through doing what I love, and inspire others to chase their own dreams. A special thanks goes out to my amazing family, friends, I would not be where I am without you. I love you all so very much!
