As banal as it sounds – I LOVE photography. No, not love – I cannot live without it. If I spend one day without touching my camera, looking through the viewfinder, and seeing how different lenses transform the image, I feel a void, which needs to be fulfilled immediately.

It started many years ago, when I was in college. I once ventured out to a remote ski resort over my winter break. During the last leg of my overnight trip I had to ride an old train that slowly crawled up the steep side of the narrow and deep mountain gorge at the break of dawn. The rising sun and electrical sparks which melted the ice wrapping the wires above the train, created astonishing colors reflected off of the snow-covered trees that surrounded us. It was a magnificent experience; I can still visualize the colors and every minute detail many years later. Looking through the windows of a train that early morning, I felt so helpless at not being able to catch and preserve the sight unfolding in front of me.

Soon after that I bought my first film camera. The mystique of process involved, from the moment you press the button, to the moment your final picture appears in front of your eyes has fascinated me ever since. I have an internal desire to capture what I see around me today, knowing that tomorrow everything will look slightly different and some things I may never see again.

I am looking to find people with similar feelings. I want to collaborate in creating images – preserved memories of what we all are– one picture at a time.

On a technical note, as my cameras brought me to the high peaks of mountains, forced me into the freezing waters above the Polar Circle, and squeezed me through the narrowest of passages in dangerous caves, I slowly started to fool myself into believing that I could be called an experienced professional who knew what he was doing.

So let’s work together and you will have a chance to decide for yourself and let me know what you think. We might also create, capture and preserve something beautiful to share with others in the process.
