About Me
Hello All,
I'm currently in the process of moving into a new venture. Eventhough I love styling and sewing, I feel that I am at a point in my life where I need to support up and coming designers/stylist. In this industry it can be difficult becoming an independent clothing line. In the next year or so, I'll be working towards starting a apparel manufacturing company that is geared towards getting the independent designer's clothing line produced and into local stores/boutiques. Spread the word and contact me with questions. I'm interested in knowing what designers want or need form an apparel manufacturing company. I started designing clothes and learning how to sew when I was just 12 years old. In June 1986, I applied to college for fashion design and was accepted into a program at Howard University, but instead, I decided to join the military. I believe the Army prepared me for the world of fashion design by helping me develop skills in leadership, personal courage and loyalty. In August 2012, I was a featured designer in Baltimore Fashion Week and showed my Spring 2013 collection. In May 2013, I graduated from The College of Notre Dame University with a degree in Business Management and a minor in Marketing. I am still in the process of developing my personal design aesthetic. I like using textured fabrics, cotton knits, and camoflauge prints. I like to design edgy but classic pieces. My designs have very clean lines and my pieces can be easily mixed with each other to get the most wear out of the collection. My goal is to continue learning and building my technical skills in the area of pattern making and draping. I feel that I have the skills and knowledge to produce quality stylish garments that women will want to wear for years to come. Thanks for stopping by.
