An Artisan from the beginning, self-taught and still learning. Initially music (percussion & vocals), leading to Visual, Digital, Culinary, Woodworking, and Photography (supported by Photoshop). J. Simpkins has explored the sensual affects, and desire through different materials and mediums. The creation of one-of-a- kind images of feminine poses and body painting provided more than a glimpse of his artistic insight utilizing , and focusing on various lighting themes.

​Experimentation with Photoshop began after the creation of his own magazine (Art & Wine Birmingham) with emphasis on culinary art, and tasting of wines and spirits. The joy of creating is not worth the effort of mentioning due to lack of words to describe the works. If your are looking for a genre to attach J. Simpkins's artistic creations, good luck. J. Simpkins is outside of any particular artistic movement or period, but he remains open to all aspects of art and creation of the UNIQUE.
