About Me

I've been behind the Camera for over 1/2 century. Started with an Kodak Brownie my parents bought me for a field trip to the Art Institute of Chicago. A Sunday on La Grande Jatte by Georges Seurat set my soul in an undercurrent that has remained a driving force all these years.

I've travelled extensively as a engineer, always with a camera in my hands. The goal was to record my travels and create a library of images that someday I would paint.

Since people saw me everywhere with a camera it was natural for them to ask, "Hey I'm getting married soon. Can you photograph my wedding?" During the course of probably 75 to a 100 weddings I occasionally was asked to take personal modeling shots for things like boudoir shots for spouses and boyfriends to album covers and band posters.

Around the turn of the century a singer introduced me to her sister who was an experienced glamour model. We became great friends and she liked working with me and the images I captured for her portfolio that rapidly expanded. One day she decided it was time to settle down and I decided it was time to take a leave from the camera. My engineering work had become a insistent problem,

After about a decade of only taking occasional shots while traveling, and the required shots of my new grandchildren, I was presented with an opportunity to shot a group of models of various levels of experience on a boat in Northern CA. Well we all had a blast and I ended up with new friends that liked my work. For the last 3 years I have included travel and glamour together.

As I write this I'm packing up in San Diego for a move to Miami Beach. I hope to be able to work with some new faces, and some old, in the years coming up.

I have been a Staff Photographer for ComicCon San Diego. I have been published in that organization's magazine. Some of my photos (Urban Night scenes) were shown in a local Wisconsin Art Museum. I have actually painted some of my photos and ended up taking 2nd place in the San Diego Delmar Fair in 2011,

And yes I still take pictures with the plans to paint them........
