I have been dreaming and living jewelry since I started making it as a child. In college, I took my dreams of making jewelry a step further and pursued metalsmithing classes. Then after college I found the Sweetman Allen studio. I would spend my time working at my part-time job, and the rest of my free time learning from Richard Sweetman, who I have named many of my pieces after. Now my passion and creativity shines, most recently, in my summer collection.
Some of the inspiration for my pieces come from the time I spent in Ireland. My studio was located in a workhouse that was once the home to the poor and suffering during the famine of 1845. The individuals that stayed in these workhouses were given uniforms and a basic diet of oats and water in exchange for hard labor day after day. There were some 130 workhouses that housed around 2,000 people from local towns and villages.
