About Me

Hello, and thanks for taking the time to look at my portfolio! I'm a photographer interested in creating engaging images that interact with viewers at a variety of levels. I think of myself as a craftsman; my day job is a geeky desk job and photography is my creative outlet. Though I shun the stress of doing photography for a living, I strive to create results of professional technical and conceptual caliber.

I would like to work with people of all ages, gender identities, body shapes and skin tones. I am also very interested in working with designers and performers who need promotional materials.

I am especially interested in exploring whimsical, iconoclastic and macabre themes. No idea is too far-fetched, I want to hear the craziest idea you have and see if we can make it work. I enjoy shooting nude and erotic content too, but I'm not interested in Playboy or FHM styles - my aesthetic leans more towards the classicly erotic.

But enough about me. What do you want to add to your port? Photography is a collaborative and creative process, and while I have a notebook full of ideas I'm eager for new concepts and opportunities to push myself outside my comfort zone. I shoot a lot of material outside of the MM world, see my site for more details about the kinds of work I do.

When the weather is nice, I try to do as many location shoots as possible. For the cold, dark, wet months I fall back into a studio in the Westlake/Queen Anne area.

I am VERY dedicated to doing the absolute best work possible, and to making sure everyone involved in my shoots feels respected, valued and safe, has fun, and gets worthwhile results. My aesthetic doesn't include the "retro" or "crossprocessed" looks made famous by Instagram; instead I like bright, bold accurate color and sharp, crisp pictures. For full-on glamour shots, I spend about an hour retouching each photo manually; the problem with automatic retouching software is that all the images look like everyone else's using the same software.

I have some ongoing projects for which I'm always looking for models. I also have a notebook full of concepts waiting for the intersection of the right model(s), wardrobe and location.

*NOTE TO RETOUCHERS AND OUT OF AREA MODELS/PHOTOGS*
I'm here to meet people to shoot and shoot with. I'm not interested in collecting friends just for the sake of inflating my list of friends. I wish you all the best in each of your endeavors, but please don't feel personally offended when I don't accept your FR. Thanks!
