PayPal: not for fetish models?
Model: KathTea Katastrophy
According to Model Mayhem’s KathTea Katastrophe, one of the largest online transaction processing sites, PayPal, is not a great choice for alternative and fetish models who want to sell photos and other items as well as accept payments for shoots online. A few weeks ago, she received the following message from PayPal: “We are hereby notifying you that, after a recent review of your account activity, it has been determined that you are in violation of PayPal’s Acceptable Use Policy regarding your sales / offers of fetish and pin up photo shoots.” PayPal deemed KathTea’s images to be too “sexually-oriented”, but the fetish model states that the site has no proper or well-defined explanation whatsoever about what falls under “sexually oriented.” Therefore, if you sell any kind of content that PayPal may deem questionable in any way, KathTea wanted to recommend that it is best you look for another online transaction processor.
Grandfather becomes a female fashion model
According to this Reuters article, a Chinese man, Liu Qianping, who was visiting his granddaughter, an aspiring fashion retailer, decided to try on the women’s clothing just for fun. Also, because his granddaughter’s model did not show up to the shoot he decided to help. However, he did not expect that the fun photoshoot that he did for his granddaughter would turn him into one of China’s most extraordinary and famous models. Liu also did not believe that he would have such instant fame so quickly. He was very brave to agree to do the photo shoot and allow his granddaughter to post those photos online, where he would be subject to potential ridicule. Luck was on his side though and he was rewarded for his boldness.
Female makes a career out of being a male model
This News Tribe article features Casey Legler, who, despite being female, is being cast as a male model for a variety of gigs. She has recently landed some of the most coveted contracts in Paris and New York. However, Casey will be modeling men’s fashions. Her career started out when a friend wanted her to take some photos for a men’s fashion magazine. Little did she know that the photo shoot would send her on a very unique career path. The modeling industry keeps evolving as there are men modeling women’s fashions, women posing as male models and many other interesting turns that have taken place over the last little while.
