What if your photographer is "happy to see you"?
Where did this one originate? "Is that a gun in your pocket or are you happy to see me?" Anyway, this is a question for models, and one of no real merit--I'm just curious. Have any of your photogrpaphers during a shoot obviously been "happy to see you" and was it of any concern to you, or do you think it is normal? Is it flattering? Is it disgusting? (It has not happened to me). Apr 01 07 05:14 am Link I think it's normal, and flattering to a point. Can't think why it would be disgusting though. Any more than a female photographer who was "nippy". Apr 01 07 01:06 pm Link V Smith Photography wrote: Apr 01 07 01:08 pm Link V Smith Photography wrote: If it hasn't , you need better models. Good question though....lots of things I'd love to know about the inside of a model's psyche...that will forever be a secret Apr 01 07 01:10 pm Link the phrase should be attributed to Mae West. as to what to do... sorta depends on what else is going on, and what the reputation of the photographer is. why are you looking at his crotch? Apr 01 07 01:29 pm Link Any image that provokes an emotional response, which was intended by model and photographer is a good thing. Lets not kid ourselves. Images are supposed to evoke a response. When I am capturing, I will be concentrating on an awful lot of technical aspects - but I can't let all of that overwhelm the thought process of "does this image illicit the response I want if I push the button right now.." Its probably overstating/oversimplifying it to suggest that a sexy image will lead a photographer to some sort of obvious physical sign as suggested by the OP. If it happens, it sure wouldn't be something I would *want* the model to see. Thats a bit much, eh? Apr 01 07 01:31 pm Link in the words of chevy dealers everywhere "like a rock" ......lol Apr 01 07 01:35 pm Link Tiff Marie wrote: Then stop modeling. What do you think advertisers are going for. Sex sells in advertising. If you can't give someone a "boner" then find another profession. Apr 01 07 01:52 pm Link Tiff Marie wrote: Tammy Lee wrote: I agree with Tammy. Men get erections. That doesn't mean that they feel the need to attack any cute girl nearby everytime they get one. If that's happened, then it's a problem. If not, you're fine. Hell, I'm half to fully naked on most of my shoots. Any "happiness to see me" is proof I'm doing what I'm paid for. Apr 01 07 02:09 pm Link I think you should give him a hand. I think she's just really young and immature. Sure this is a business, but you're there to elicit an emotion.....a reaction, and like a previous poster mentioned, if you can't handle that, go find another occupation. Apr 01 07 02:54 pm Link Seriously! Not even two weeks ago there was a thread about weather or not getting turned on by a model during a shoot was a bad thing. Most people got called unproffessional if they admitted something close to that. Now there is a thread about the same thing and it seems like it's the other way around. It's now a bad thing if you can't turn give a photographer a boner during a shoot? I personally, chose not to share my opinion in this thread about the subject. But really! What is with this place?
