I just did a search for rice powder threads and only saw one. I was wondering does anyone ever use ONLY rice powder after using RCMA creme foundation instead of using a colored powder? If you do... would you brush a light layer over the face or press it in?

I use rice powder a lot as I feel it absorbs oil better than the colored powders.
But that us is just me.

btw: works great on bald heads.

I normally use a rice powder or some sort of other tranlucent setting powder for the majority of my pictures. I rarely use a colored powder over foundation . I have before but that was only when the colorless powder didn't work to hide a particular hot spot on the models face or a talent's shiny bald head. That's when I have broken out the color powder, and I do press it in.

edited- LOL Naomi, saw you just said the same.

I hear that rice powder actually really rocks.  I'm going to get it in my kit as soon as my translucent powder runs out (which seems like it lasts forever - gosh) LOL.

David Klasfield I believe uses it and I actually think he sells it in his site

I actually have a couple colored rice powders.
I love them.
They have a lovely texture.  They definitely do awesome with oily spots, but they aren't too dry for non-oily skin.  I'll usually brush some on over MUFE F&B and then pat it on throughout the shoot if there are any spots that are catching the light too much.
If you leave it light, it can still be dewy, but can also go on matte.

As you can tell, I'm a huge fan.  haha.  I've had a few people comment on them smelling nice too.

I'd love to get some translucent though...

it could very well be just my luck and i'm the only one, but there's something a bout it that ends up irritating my face / creating clogged pores.

i might use it on a client from time to time (i like the results, but not the aftermath).

You would think I do, the way I'm always going on about it, but alas not yet. I'm a big fan of the Cinema Secrets No-Colour Powder, which is actually half rice powder / talc, so you get the best of both worlds. If you're in the city, you can pick it up at any Ricky's, and if not you can get directly from cinemasecrets.com.

I bought my rice powder at Folica.com http://www.folica.com/Rice_Powder_Ori_d1603.html

I just received my Cinema Secrets no color loose powder and it's wonderful.  Love the texture and value.

I have never try rice powder....
I work with new makeup brand now, and they have coloured translucent micro powder.

I just want to warn you to use powder less than micro. Dont use nano-makeup/-powder!
It can harm you and our nature. They found out the nano particle kills the organisme in bacterial size! They do harm when your makeup is so small.

Just an adwise.. smile

This thread is 3 years old!
Why are you bumping all these old threads?

All the current threads are getting pushed down when you do this.

Because I started with this FAQs;

https://www.modelmayhem.com/po.php?thread_id=243587

Then is't natural to begin to read the links in it.

It also saids we could continues this thread insted of beginning another thread.
So, thats why I to it.

It's my first day on this forum, and if nothing is wrong for follow the rule, don't blame me,  but tell the moderator to sort the link in the "manual".
