Steven Duncan

Always attracted to the visual arts, Photographer Steven Duncan began
his artistic career as a respected painter, and his works of art
have garnered much praise around the world. At a client's request, Steven
traded one of his pieces for a camera – it was love at first shot. It
didn't take long for Steven, and others, to realize that his artistic
eye translated to a unique perspective behind the lens. Steven already
held a B.F.A. from the Otis College of Art and Design, but his
newfound love for photography inspired him to apply to Speos, the
prestigious Paris-based photography institution. Here Steven studied
the French Style, worked closely with Peter Lindbergh, studied with Paolo
Roversi, and started to build an impressive portfolio in fashion
photography. It was during his time in Paris that Steven developed his
unique photographic aesthetic, which has been described as both
provocative and cutting-edge, but also approachable, and commercially
viable. Steven's fine art background is always evident in his work,
which reveals an exquisite sense of lighting, and an ability to
display his own point-of-view, while also capturing, and appreciating,
the subject's own artistic contribution. Indeed, Steven seems to have
found the perfect technique for shooting anything from fashion, to
portraiture, to advertising, making him a versatile and valued
photographer in the industry. When not on set, Steven spends his time
in Los Angeles, with his son, Jet.
