About Me

Destin Lightsy became the protégé of famed choreographer, Fatima Robinson, whom she met while at a national Coca- Cola commercial audition. Lightsy has mastered a unique style of dance that became the inspiration of a worldwide dance movement. She was still just a teenager when she became the muse of award winning director David LaChapelle. Followed by numerous Christina Aguilera projects, like appearing in the critically acclaimed “Dirrty” music video. This then led to her inspiring the documentary movie known as “Rize”, a film that chronicles the practice of vividly extreme dance forms known as "krumping" and "clowning" in Los Angeles, ca. David used Destiny in Macy Gray’s album cover as well as for performance footage in Elton John’s mesmerizing Las Vegas show “The Million Dollar Piano.”

She's worked with other high profile entertainers like Usher as his counterpart on the world-renowned video “Yeah.” Which catapulted her into being a recognizable face in every household in the world. Making her the most sought after performer since Jennifer Lopez. Seventeen Magazine interviewed and shot a spread with Destiny naming her as “the one to watch on the rise” that featured “Step Up” star Jenna Dewan. Almost every major label contacted her to work with their artists to develop them into the well-polished entertainers they longed for. She began booking projects with Jennifer Lopez, Missy Elliot, and being featured in Jamie Foxx’s NBC special “Unpredictable.” Destiny was asked by music mogul Devyne Stephens to work with a new artist named Ciara, becoming the performance influence of her first album. She scored the love interest/lead dancer role in Chris Brown’s debut smash “Run it” music video. Her resume includes being singled out on shows like “The Ellen Degeneres Show,” “The Jay Leno Show,” “Regis and Kelly,” “106 and Park,” Grammy’s, AMA’s, Vibe awards, Euro VMA’s, BET Awards, Soul Train Music Awards and on.

She has been the image of over 6 Ipod commercials/campaigns, performing solo in commercials like V-Cast Verizon, Kellogg’s, and numerous Coca- Cola commercials to name a few. During the summer of 2007 she add yet another credit to her impressive resume as she joined the MTV hit show "Yo Momma!" as Wilmer Valderrama's new co-host. On "Yo Momma!" Lightsy showcased her comedic flair in Atlanta, Georgia for season three. She’s had spots on "MAD TV", Comedy Central's "Mind of Mencia”, 20th Century Fox's "Fat Albert: The Movie" and Sony Pictures' "You Got Served." Meanwhile Destiny worked simultaneously on her music career being wanted by a number of musical groups. One of the first deals she was presented with followed her stand out appearance in “ You Got Served”, some years later a solo deal by R&B sensation Tank and another the summer of 2009 with Capitol Records. All of which she turned down waiting for the right situation. This time she followed through with an idea that was proposed to her about being in a boy band called “The Squares” that would later become “ISquare." After just 3 weeks of working in the studio, Kenny ‘Babyface’ Edmonds sent them to meet LA Reid in New York. And thus began their whirlwind, because no sooner then they hit the pavement every major record label’s president wanted a stab at them. P. Diddy lobbied for a position and set the group up with president of Interscope records Jimmy Iovine.

After Interscope won the bidding war, Destiny received a major publishing deal with Bug Music. Right away she began writing the music video treatments, song ideas, media interviews and took the honor of being the groups personal fashion guru. The group slated to be the next Black Eyed Peas had a hit single with Swedish House Mafia’s Steve Angelo, Grammy award winning writers Romi, Carl Falk, and Lazonate Franklin called "Hey Sexy Lady" that made #5 on Billboards 2011 Dance Charts. And then became a Grammy Award winning #1 dubstep remix song of 2011 by Skrillex that single out Destiny’s vocals. Isquare blew the world away with their live performances that year on stage and television, and opening up for mega superstar acts like LMFAO and Lady Gaga. There are many articles online stating Destiny will be the break out multi media pop star. Highlighting her trend starting ever changing haircut and color (which she began doing years before it became mainstream) and edgy fashion sense. Without fail she has been working on her highly anticipated solo project. Its more than evident Destiny possesses the keys to becoming the world’s next entertainment business female phenomenon.
