Here is what worked for me this summer. I went to www.resellerratings.com and under product search I typed in Canon 20d. You can see prices and ratings of a few dozen companies selling the camera. I chose Beach camera as the best combination of price and service and never regretted it. I picked them later to buy my lenses from and they just get better and better.

Just try to avoid ebay this time of the year for the hottest models out. If its too good to be true, 99.99% of the time it is.

Google's 'Froogle' tool is very helpful as well.
