Could you shoot a family member nude?
no...maybe...yes...probably not. Is there money involved? Feb 08 06 11:07 pm Link After careful deliberation....no way! Feb 08 06 11:10 pm Link Crazy Benny wrote: -LOL- Damn! you beat me to the punch line? Kinda left themselves open on that one eh? Feb 08 06 11:10 pm Link well i'm not a photographer but i would pose with my sistah nude https://www.modelmayhem.com/member.php?id=99429 Feb 08 06 11:15 pm Link Yes I would, and yes I have. In my eyes, a body is a body. I was raised to be very open. I have done nudes for several different people, of all races and body types. I simply view the human form as a strictly artistic thing. I have shot both nudes and implied nudes of my younger sister. In fact, she has been in several of my portfolio images. I'm just one of those, "What difference does it make?" people. Feb 08 06 11:22 pm Link I've often wanted to shoot some of my family members. .....oh, wait. With a camera? Feb 08 06 11:26 pm Link ever hear of Sally Mann? heheh her images are wonderful Feb 08 06 11:28 pm Link ok i did shoot one of my family members nude....it was my mother to be exact...and i honestly never had a problem, she wanted to do it, and it was for my father for xmas...you shoulda seen the look on his face at xmas when he saw the pics, he was stunned.....and loved em....my mother had so much fun when i shot her, that she wants to do it again....ive seen my mom naked plenty of times, and it certainly does not bother me one bit....what she has on her, i can touch on myself....and shes seen my nudes i have done in my modeling portfolio....but its really to each of ones own Feb 08 06 11:29 pm Link when I'm Shooting, I "zone"....it wouldn't matter... Feb 08 06 11:32 pm Link seems to be alittle different then a female photographer shooting her female relatives and being ok with it, but not many said they have shot thier male relatives and male photographers some say they have shot a few relatives but none were males lol I find that funny tee hee Well me I would be comfortable shooting female relatives nude but I couldn't shoot my mom nude or male relatives nude, would be too funny lol Feb 09 06 12:28 am Link Lens N Light wrote: Hell, sally mann made her professional name off shooting her kids nude, even after they were infants. And after 20+ years it's still a hot and weird issue with people. Feb 09 06 09:30 am Link No, i couldn't. Unfortunitlly i am the youngest and best looking person in my family (which is really bad bad bad). All my relatives are old, fat and ugly. So no i would not shoot my family nude... i dont even want to shoot them at all! And don't! ==B) Feb 09 06 09:32 am Link dncphotos wrote: If it walks, crawls, flys, or slithers and I can get it to hold still long enough - I'll shoot it. Feb 09 06 10:09 am Link I can not believe all the answers from so-called professional photographers members here. I would not seek out a family member as my only model, but since all my family knows I shoot photos and do nudes it would not be any different from any other model. I mean if you think there is some sexual over tone, then you most likely feel the same with anyone else you shoot. Everyone has pictures of babies nude in the tub or swimming pool, which is not what the question was implying. I have two neices who are absolutely beautiful, if I were to ask them to pose for me they would and I could and would do tasteful nudes of them if they were willing. Because once I turn on the camera it's all about getting the picture not getting aroused. Feb 09 06 10:31 am Link You people are crazy. To each his/her own! Feb 09 06 10:41 am Link bobby sargent wrote: First, I always wear clothes during a shoot. I find it just works better, for a number of reasons. Feb 09 06 10:47 am Link Seth Rutledge wrote: Look around, do you think 99% of these people became photographers because they love shooting? Its to get people naked! There are like 5 poeple in here that shoot men nude and I would guess that most of those photographers are women. If your book is full of naked people, you might want to rethink why your so into photography. Try shooting some apples or oranges for a change, its still photography and its stil art. Your freaks! Feb 09 06 12:24 pm Link Blue Photography Studio wrote: If you're not joking, you're full of shit. I became a photographer because my illustration skills suck. Images of still lifes or my landscapes don't do much for me on a modeling site, by the way. Feb 09 06 12:28 pm Link I wear clothes whenever I hold a gun. Feb 09 06 12:32 pm Link lll wrote: No fair repeating a joke. Someone already said they always wore clothes when they shoot. Feb 09 06 01:12 pm Link Oh crap - and old Army thing just came to mind. If you called your rifle a gun in basic training you would be made stand in front of the troops holding your ***** and rifle and had to say "this is my weapon and this is my gun, this is for killing and this is for fun" Now some of these posts are taking on a whole new meaning... Feb 09 06 01:19 pm Link Well I just shot my niece nude. It was strange. I saw her when she was just 20 minutes old. Now she is 25. It was different for sure. And I did feel strange doing it. bs Feb 10 06 07:30 am Link bobby sargent wrote: Wow, Bobby Sargent admits feeling strange on a photo shoot. Actually, I could/would shoot a family member if I was asked, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't feel wierd. You have broken new ground once again. Feb 10 06 08:44 am Link bobby sargent wrote: This HAS GOT to be up there with seeing your parents do the "DO". Can't even think about it without feeling iggy. And I don't even take photos! *lol* Feb 10 06 08:46 am Link I have before,My daughter and believe me it felt strange but she needed the pictures for a modeling job that she was trying to get way back in 2001 and she did not have the money to pay some one,I talked to my wife about it and she had no problem with it.So we just looked at it as another job and did a great job and she has went on to become a very sucessful figure model. But any of my other dauhters that are not modeling professionaly NO!!!! I agree with you as well but this thread was originally about shooting a family member nude... not about art over money, then someone had to make the "doing it for tits" post so I had to throw in my two cents. I agree with you the real art is the balance between making imagery you want and the money you can get from it. Feb 10 06 01:50 pm Link Well, I've asked my cousin before. But she is a very distant cousin. From my Great Great Grandfather's Brother's side. I see her about once a year. And once a year I ask her. And once a year she tells me to go f* myself. Check her out. You might recognize her from either the old Direct TV ads, or from one of ESPN's morning work out shows... http://www.pageantrymagazine.com/magazi … iaint.html Feb 10 06 02:24 pm Link ONLY if someone put a loaded gun to my head!
