how to make lips shiny
my subject already says it all. i hope you can give me a tutorials. thanks! Apr 11 10 11:21 am Link Glyserine or mineral oil Apr 11 10 11:21 am Link makeup, no idea. Retouch: If the shine is already there, boost it. If it's not there, you can borrow shine from other images. Realistic specular reflections are very difficult to recreate from scratch. Apr 11 10 11:23 am Link Well, there are different kinds of shiny. Do you mean a soft sheen or a wet-look gloss? Apr 11 10 12:56 pm Link Peano wrote: The wet look gloss. Apr 11 10 01:18 pm Link Well if you have good painting experience, you can just "fake it" and paint in your own shine using other photos for reference. Or, instead of starting from scratch you can copy and paste from another photo, and then adjust the color accordingly to make it blend with the original lips. Apr 11 10 01:37 pm Link Here are the main steps: 1 - original 2 - Added color: one curves adj. layer in luminosity mode, a second in color mode 3 - D&B with curves adj. layers to give the lower lip more roundness 4 - Adding gloss, details below Three steps for the gloss: 1. More burning to darken shadows and set off the bright area ____________________________________ 2. Paint on the specular hightlights. I used a hard brush at 100% brush opacity, then lowered layer opacity to 80%. You just have to experiment until you get shapes that look like reflections. ____________________________________ 3. Faint reflection of specular highlights in the upper lip. For this I used a hard brush at 100% brush opacity, then lowered layer opacity to 8%. ____________________________________ Before and after: Hotter color: Apr 11 10 02:49 pm Link nice Apr 11 10 07:35 pm Link Peano....you are awesome. Not possible if you had totally dry lips, if you had some natural gloss applied, you can build on it like Peano tells you. Apr 11 10 10:12 pm Link Ashish Arora wrote: Why not? You need base to build on, if you start imitating gloss from scratch, it only looks fake so you can take it only to a certain level. If you took a picture of yourself without makeup with such lips, I would love to learn the workflow to hit the lips. I have permission from the photographer for using it here. She has agreed for letting you guys retouch it. Photographer: Malize Evans Now this is not winter dry lips as I wanted, but sure there's not much shiny stuff used on the lips either. Not the perfect example to begin from, but if I learn from here, I asked for more photos without makeup and I will share. That means we can create anything, forget about enhancing. Apr 13 10 07:09 am Link Here goes my 5 cents. That's how I would do the glossy lips from dry lips (very similar to what tutorial suggested by ralook says). I know I'm now killer, so I'm sure that with a better masking and your skills you'd do it far better than me. Starting image: Duplicate layer, channel mixer to make the lips red, masking (It needs a better mask, i know ) Duplicate layer again, apply "Plastic Wrap" filter, detail 15 and smothness 15. Mask with the previous mask, change opacity to fit your taste: Paint shines with a 10% opacity brush, and apply gausian blur. Opacity of the layer to fit your taste (very transparent, like 15%: Paint the shines with the same brush: I'm sure that with your skill it'll look much more natural What do you think? Apr 13 10 09:23 am Link Can anyone or Peano break down the process of the glossy lips further please, esp the dummies version? Possibly post an image of the layers Thanks Apr 13 10 10:46 am Link Ãmar wrote: Apr 13 10 10:51 am Link https://www.modelmayhem.com/po.php?thre … st12661763 Ooh Malize, that's an attempt, but I am afraid, we need some of these guys to help us to achieve that wet gloss on the lips. And once again, thank you for the pic. Plus, you are working in 8 bit, I would want a solution for this in 16 bit, you don't have Plastic Wrap in 16 bit mode. I work in the latter. P.S.: Honey, I just noticed you used the pic that didn't have bubbles and a different angle! lol Apr 13 10 11:13 am Link Thanks, Peano.
