But it could be hurting your chance at jobs.

Recently posted a casting call for a client.  Every girl the client had any interest in, they ultimately rejected because of the type or amount of adult content they had in their portfolios.

Ladies and gents, you might want to think twice about what you're exposing.  It may be costing you jobs.

I agree to some extent. But are we talking "Adult Pornograpic" or Artistic...

seeing how my chest is so small and I am not tall enough for runway...it limits my chance...I like artistic nude...among other things of course...but will that hurt me?

In most cases it was what one might consider "nudity for the sake of nudity"

It was not artistic, it wasn't even flattering in most cases.  It was just blatant attempts for attention.

A LOT of clients in the advertising and fashion industries are VERY conservative - even in the large cities - and wil not touch a model that has even suddested nudity in hre portfolio. In many cases, the same goes for the photographers getting accounts.

Oh boy, you and the OP are in big trouble. Wait until the "no escorts" and the "fashion nude" crowd gets a hold of you both.

It all depends on the type of modeling a model wants to do. A lot of nude models are very short - under 5' 6" so their modeling endeavours are very limited - mostly glamour, glamour nudes, swimsuit and art nudes.

Your chest looks fine to me for art nudes. smile

At 5' 7" you are generally at the minimum height for commercial and editorial work.

before anybody attacks you, i don't think you're attacking people for modeling nude. i think you are just giving a fair warning that some jobs (modeling and others) will hold it against a model if nude photos of them exist. i hate it: people should be able to do whatever they want without being judged.

Runway, so I have been told by numerous individuals, is only (possibly even less than) 10% of the modelling industry....Im shooting for commercial myself...I find it most interesting!

crap shots by crap models by crap photographers and the client is put off...

hmmm... there's a surprise. gee do you think maybe it's the quality of the talent vs. the nudity (which is NOT adult content *eye roll*) that is at issue here?

it's odd that this result is not duplicated when agency models are considered. might it be both the models and the quality of the images the agencies show that makes the difference?

just sayin

It has nothing to do with the topic.

Rich you knwo better than to ask people to be responsible for the quality of the content of their ports!  It's so much eaier to blame it on things like nudity.  THAT is the real issue here!!

From what I've seen of the OP in the fora he doesn't see much distinction.

Not for me.

I like small chests. More than that, I like natural and forthright people. I like artistic and I like nude too.

Not doing nude work cost them jobs too.

All this thread does is document that models loose work based on their choices.

I suppose a model ought to do what a model wants to do - nothing more and nothing less.

You never know what the future may hold.
But, I am sensing, for me (personally) doing nudes is like cheating on taxes...
One day it will get discovered by someone ready to hurt me.

Unfortunatly, there are people out there who are mean-spirited
and who will go into trouble of searcing through your past to find that nude shot.
Paparazzi will do that, if you are in acting career, for example...

So, what I am trying to say is - think for youself, but if you think there's a slight chance you career may take you some place public (being a public firgure), I'd say, be cautious what images you allow to take with your face attached to them.

Best of luck! and hopefully, the world will change for the best sooner than we think!

I keep harping on this in another thread.  Yes, if you become a famous actress, someone will track down that nude shot.  How exactly does that hurt you?  If you are not ashamed of the original shoot, what has changed?  This does happen to actresses all the time and sometimes makes a bit of a fuss, but does that really hurt them?  Should you live your life trying to never do anything that someone might make a fuss about?

Most successful models have done some sort of nude shots though. Kate Moss has done quite a few, Jessica White, and Naomi Campbell has a whole book of shots that are of her nude. I think it depends how u percieve the image. If it's "Playboyish" I can understand, but if it's just nude in general and it's tasteful, I don't think it should diminish your chances of impressing a client. This is something that I've actually thought about, I'm glad this came up smile

Sounds a bit puritanical for this day and age and how are you defining "adult content"?. Surely there must be lot's of models on this site without said offensive nakedness, Lol. Can't imagine what client would reject a model because of some naked pics, unless they were some religious zealots or high profile political candidates. Next time take your client to a three martini lunch, they are apt to be more receptive to nakedness.

Thank you ..... You are so right ...

If a model needs a figure study, or wants something in her PAPER portfolio for the casting director for the Lever2000 commercial (advertising hygene), then go to a photographer, pay him to shoot what you feel you need.  Then you are the only one with control of your work.  The public never sees it, you have it, your safe unless your ex steals it when you break up and puts it on line.  You had the experience, you didn't lose a single client.  You will fully understand the reason for figure art which makes you a more informed model, but, a model who can stand next to the Pope for a photo without a media feeding frenzy.

God Bless,
Outlaw
