Translucent Powder
What powder do you use? Aug 05 07 06:58 pm Link Wow, there are so many good ones... I really like (and use) Ben Nye's Translucent powder. You can get it for a great price in an amazingly large container, and then just refill a smaller shaker for your kit. I also like Bobbi Browns Pale Yellow, but it's really comparable to BN's Banana...which is also WAY more inexpensive anyway. Not crazy about Shiseido's...to thin or lightweight or something. A good rule though is to blot before touching up with the powder. Less is still more, even w/ the translucent ones. Aug 05 07 07:27 pm Link I use Laura Mercier translucent loose powder and Yaby's pressed blotting powder and blotting paper from http://www.paintandpowderstore.com. Aug 05 07 07:57 pm Link I also like Skin by Allison Rafaelle Translucent powder. Aug 05 07 07:58 pm Link There are two I swear by for absolutely everyone under the sun, from the lightest of the light to the darkest of dark: Ben Nye's Neutral Setting Powder and Cinema Secret's No Colour Powder. The Cinema Secrets one is half rice starch, half talc so I save that for the super-oily types. Aug 05 07 08:42 pm Link sounds like ben nye is the winner! what else is good from ben nye? Aug 05 07 08:48 pm Link Completely honestly. A model's skin can look FUGLY with concealer, corrector, foundation, powder etc on, but when I put N.Y.C brand translucent powder on with a kabuki, her skin goes FLAWLESS. 2.99$ over 30$ anyday, especially if the product works. Aug 05 07 10:15 pm Link i have the yaby loose and pressed invisible powders, as well as coverfx. Aug 06 07 01:28 am Link liz yu wrote: Liz, how do you like the Coverfx powder?? I've never used it, but I like their liquid foundations a lot. Aug 06 07 02:04 am Link Im broke so either nothing at all...or www.eyeslipsface.com Aug 06 07 02:08 am Link MakeupEnvy wrote: i don't use it very often because it has a sheen to it, so i only use on certain areas where i need the sheen.. Aug 06 07 10:20 am Link I use the MAC pro traslucent powder (looks white). But when that's done I'm going to try something else...not sure what yet but keep posting and I'll pick one. Very good post btw Aug 06 07 10:37 am Link definitely Ben Nye. I've got it in fair, white and colorless and it's awesome for both video and print, even on my more oily faces. Aug 06 07 12:51 pm Link I have the 3 Custom Color loose powder that I love and I also sometimes use the FA pressed powder. S. Aug 06 07 01:46 pm Link RCMA translucent powder and Ben Nye Banana powders. Aug 06 07 03:03 pm Link TEMPTU no color...Ciinema Secrets ...and rice powder... and for some reason I adore Bare Minerals MATTE Mineral Veil... I use the Mineral Veil on myself with some concealer for daily use. It makes my pores totally disappear. I only use the matte version. Aug 06 07 03:06 pm Link LORAC ...so fine....amazing. Urban Decay universal powder...yellow. Mineral veil personally is one of my favs. I used to work for alison raffaele and her loose powder is amazing...and giant. Coty...still a favorite of mine...I buy the unscented one. Aug 06 07 06:36 pm Link Trucco powders are fine-textured. T Leclerc in banane. Loreal True Match is suprisingly good Aug 06 07 06:42 pm Link Ben Nye is my favorite Aug 07 07 01:54 am Link I use Face Atelier translucent loose and MAC Invisible setting powder. Thanks Lisa, for the 411 on the Mineral Veil. I hate the regular Bare Minerals powders, they make my pores look like man-hole covers. Apparently this is quite different. Off to Sephora I go to check it out. Sounds like a must try if not a must -have. Aug 07 07 03:25 am Link I use RCMA translucent powder, and Ben Nye. Love them both.... ohh I used cover Fx pressed translucent... Aug 07 07 09:49 pm Link Charissa the Artist wrote: I love Coty! ^.^ Aug 08 07 06:51 am Link I use the translucent loose powder from Kryolan and I love it!!! It does a great silky finish and it looks very natural on the skin. Aug 08 07 10:24 am Link D-make-up wrote: I use this also but i recently ordered a big 141gm tub of graftobian one for £7.10 which since using it seems to be practically the same product. So its well worth paying less and just filling up the smaller kryolan pot. Aug 08 07 10:48 am Link Anyone know of a powder (not neccesarily translucent..) that's similar to Bobbi Brown's "Golden"? I think that Ben Nye's Banana is really comparable to her Pale Yellow, but I can't find an alternative to Golden... Aug 08 07 10:52 am Link Leanne Cable wrote: Wow! Thanks it's useful to know:) Aug 08 07 12:33 pm Link I use Erno Laszlo's loose powder (Marilyn Monroe used it too) and I haven't found a face it doesn't set or improve. Oct 30 09 10:01 am Link I know this thread is old but I am sure Im not the only nubbie checking for it!! I love the Ben Nye powders, and MUFE HD powder for touchups...after blotting with blot papers!! Mar 18 10 05:32 pm Link It's just pigment! Believe me!
