What a mom did.........
I have friends that own a Casting Business in Los Angeles, and this was last year. I was sitting in on a casting session for a Rapper's Video. It was a open call, you know for those big booty calls!!! I was in and out of the office all day, I use their office sometimes for my own casting of Photography, and sometimes, very rarely I see a fresh face that comes into my friends office for those booty calls, I mean casting calls. I noticed in the outer office a Old lady (with maybe a 15 year old daughter next to her), maybe in her late 30's, and said to my friends who was casting for this Rapper's Video, you know they like young women, and I said to my friends 'aint she a lil old to be hired for this part?" Well, a few minutes past by, and the older lady with her younger daughter appeared in the main office with the two casting directors, and to my suprise, mom was not up for the "booty call" it was her 15 year old daughter!!!! My two friends looked at me, and I looked at my to friends, and I went off!!! I told mom, what gives her the right to try to place her 15 year old daughter, who looked to be 12 in a Booty Call's Rappers Video!!! I was stunned and completely amazed, that the mom said, that her daughter had begged her to take her here and try to cast her. Wow. I am not telling you all here, what the true words I said to mom, I did it right though, i told the tween daughter to step outside into the outside office. I told the mom, what a bleeping fool she was, and what kind of signal does that send her own daughter. I am still amazed by the mom's action. Was there any role in the music video that called for a younger girl? A daughter or other character that wouldn't be all booty poppin' and skankin' it up? There are so, so many assumptions in your post. (And so, so many parents that are probably far worse to/for their kids than this mother). A really skanky, dirty prostitute. No one had any beef about that. It had to do with a little thing called 'acting', in which you play a part that you in life do not typically fulfill, for the sake of getting a story or idea across. Commonly involves things like makeup and costumes, and generally no one gives two shits about someone's age in the final product.
