It seems there's a scam-bag using the name Bill Mcclaren (small, second "c") with a MM profile ID of 1500557, but, of course, it's gone now.

So suspicious and savvy models are googling my/his/her name, going to my Web site, and sending me emails directly from there.

There has been a scammer recently not even bothering with sending emails and directly contacting models through finding their phone numbers through their contact detail names online.

He may state that he is from FHM, most times he will just state that he is a photographer and has already sent you through an email in regards to a shoot if he contacts someone in your family to find out your phone number.

Be very very careful. It is indeed a variety of the normal FHM scam that has been found on here, that is usually delivered by email first.

This person is not wanting money. He will indeed try to sweeten the deal by stating that it is for a car shoot and will pay you $4500 or $500 for a webcam interview.

There is also no mention of sending over a cheque.

So I would take it that it is a new variety of scammers out for whatever reason. Probably more for getting the younger pretty female models to actually come over to take suggestive photos with them than anything else.

You may be easilly confused to think that it is like the other normal scams but this person goes out of their way to get your personal phone numbers whether cell or home.

Be VERY careful.

After recieving a messgae on MM for a $2000 job (which seemed slightly suss) I thought i'd email for more info. Man these jokers can't even be bothered to change the bloody email!! I think they just forward the same email repeatedly and hope someone is dumb enough to do it. I'm glad this forum is here people need to know about these f******s.

I was looking for jobs on Craiglist (yes, I know many of them are sketch/scams) and I got a reply very similar to the letter from "Alexander Thaddeus." They did not say about seeing me on MM or anything, but I've been trying to ask them questions to find out if it's a scam or not.
He says he has a "client who wants to update her Catalog with her new year Fashion
outfits release" and says that i should get back to him asap because they want to shoot this month. He said that I would get $600 of the $1600 before the shoot and the rest after. Although he mentioned i might need to buy things for the shoot (i've been trying to ask what he means by this), he has not asked me to pay anyone else, or I'd know it was a scam. I'm iffy because this is for a fashion magazine and he knows I'm only 5'4.

Thank you for posting this. I've encountered two scams thus far on MM! One recently claiming to be a "modeling consultant". This "modeling consultant's" boss (whom I spoke with), instructed me that I send him topless pics. I refused and made it aware to her that I was not comfortable with doing such a thing. She showed no form of sincerity and made it clear to me that her "boss" sees breast everyday in his line of work. Like I was expected to do it.

A pattern I see with all these scams is having "12 fashion outfits to cover" " fashion outfits are jeans and jacket". Please look out for these, i'v have received e-mails that have the exact same format written and they ask for the exact same things. here are some examples

some of these e-mails i got the same thing sent to me multiple times, so they are mass e-mails sent out by a computer. thanks to this thread i am able to identify scams. being a newbie i'm glad i read all of this, you guys are awesome! and i recommend all newbies to read this. if it wasnt for the advice i would have been scammed by my hometowns modelling agency too.

Ok I am also a newbie to MM as well as to the industry period but I recieved an email almost identical to the example listed above. The only difference was that he said that he would send me a $200 check and that the remaining balance would be paid to me after the photo shoot. As a new model I was very excited and really didn't think much about what he was asking. Anywho, Im glad that I stopped by to READ this!!!! THANKS SOO MUCH, you're a life saver!!!

Hey just in keeping with the scams and basics of MM I was wondering how and where you "check out" photographers to make sure they're legit and have a good rep. I'm apprehensive to be alone with a stranger that could be on here scoping for girls. Which I know is not everyone I just want to be safe.
