I think you don't have enough highlights. Brightness is all in the middle range for most shots. You need more contrast, more pop.

Try adjusting some of your images so that one part of every shot (even if it's just 2 pixels) is completely black and one part is completely white. I think you'll see a dramatic difference.

This is really strong: https://www.modelmayhem.com/pic.php?pid … up_id=&ua= I like that shot a lot. Here you have the contrast working for you.

Looking at this shot and several others, you need to be paying more attention to the hair: https://www.modelmayhem.com/pic.php?pid … up_id=&ua= Even if you don't have a stylist, you can still keep some hair gel in your kit. Frizz is evil.

Please be aware that this is the Serious Critique forum, and responses are expected to be fully thought and fleshed out critiques.  Short, general, or vague responses are not appropriate for this forum.

This is a brand new forum, so there will be some transition, but we would like to keep a more serious atmosphere in this forum.

So odd! Some of your work looks interesting, well thought out and artistically bordering on genius. Other stuff looks amateur at best. Maybe it's just me, but it looks like 2 or 3 photographers collided in one port. Maybe it's chaos, maybe it's diversity. Dunno.

I agree, it's all over the map. There doesn't seem to be a defining voice.

Maybe just post only your most recent work in your portfolio here (nothing more than 6 months old) and ask again? That will probably be easier for us to read.

Your portfolio feels like it is all over the place, some images exhibit high quality like this one:

While others fall short on technical expertise

The other thing is over all your images appear dark, do you calibrate your monitor?
