Hi, I'm interested in getting some constructive feedback on my skin retouching in the image below. Just wondering if its too much, too little, what I could improve on etc. Large PNG screenshots at 100% in Photoshop: Before - http://bit.ly/8hkEmh After - http://bit.ly/8vdpOH Thanks! This seems like a case where Portraiture can prove its worth in evening out slight differences in skin tone -- after the detail work is done, and you did it very well. I emailed you a copy of your retouched version with Portraiture applied. See what you think. Jan 15 10 02:23 pm Link Peano wrote: Thanks for that! It seemed to work quite well at "smoothing" out the uneven tones from the D&B. Jan 16 10 12:51 am Link ^ oops sorry i'm logged into my photography profile. Haha. Jan 16 10 12:52 am Link I agree that the DB work looks great, but the skin tone could use a bit more evening out (esp. by her hair line). Also, some of the tonal sculpting you did looks a little artificial. Maybe focus more on defining her features rather than darkening the edges of her face. But for the most part it looks great! I did not retouch the rest of this image.. hence why I asked how the skin retouching looked. I don't think you went overboard with the D&B at all. My one critique would be for you to either get rid of, or extend the red hued contouring line that the MUA created on the forehead. Other than that the skin is flawless and looks perfectly natural. I would change a thing else. Cheers! Mar 01 10 03:24 am Link ANB Retouching wrote: Very well! You can and you will improve, keep practicing. Seek the DAR Challenges, Contests, and Samples section here for photos for your port. and choose ones that have a lot of skin texture, for them being better photographs for skin retouching practice.
