What is distinctive about these characters is that the forehead and nose are pretty much on the same plane. You have that. (Even your original model has a bit of that quality to her nose shape) - And the brows feed in a decisive and continuous curve down into the nose.

The rest of the face is set back dramatically from the forehead-nose plane. You should play up that idea more.

I would highly recommend you to not use one texture over the whole image. it reduces the quality instead of improving it. problem here is the texture would usually adapt to the surface. so it should be bend to the sides of the faces and other parts.
secondly you should try to get in some shading back. the face looks very flat as it is.

i think the eyes are nice done and the picture is a good start, but needs some more work and tuning.

ok I get it. I do! Everyone wants to be one of those whatsys. I'm just fed up looking at them :-P

I think you did a good job, be careful of the masking around the edges. More depth is needed so some d&b would be good to make it more 3D looking. The hair sticks out a mile so try and blend in that better.
