Honestly, I thought Mr. Krunoslav Stifter had presented dodge and burn, the power of it, carving and creating a visually appealing image very well in his DVD!

One comment on the girl in the OP.
She has a great quirkiness to her face. It's like you tried to make her more conventionally 'pretty' in the retouch and thereby lost a lot of what made her face unique and interesting. Watch out what imperfections you correct, I guess is the takeaway I'm suggesting.

I follow Calvin hollywood on facebook and the picture of the older guy you put up really reminds me of the stuff he does. He has also shared another retouchers photos that remind me of the older lady you did, the slightly comical style. I wonder if you also follow them?

They're very similar to me, and a style i like as well. Good job.
