bubblegum casting...?
I saw an add on craigslist for this place called bubble gum casting. http://denver.craigslist.org/tfr/2873854614.html I went to their website and I'm curious about it, because it does say it's a paid gig. But I don't want to get myself into a bad situation, I don't want to get scammed. I've been trying to find some kind of reviews, or comments about the website on google/yahoo etc and nothing is really coming up. They have limited info on their page, I think it's probably a scam. What do you guys thinks??? http://www.bubblegumcasting.com/ Mar 12 12 01:34 pm Link We are looking for VERY attractive females who are in shape and petite . VERY attractive is a VERY weird casting requirement. No modeling experince is needed what so ever . None? And they are going to pay you how much? $1,500? Yea, no. Im a young (25) professional photographer and will work you through everything step by step. Why does it matter how "young" the photographer is? Looks like a guy trying to get laid. Craigslist is a crap place to look for work. If it seems too good to be true it probably is. Mar 12 12 01:43 pm Link I see their posts on cl by me as well. like 4 a day. They're a scam. Mar 12 12 10:29 pm Link I don't know if I'd call it a scam or not... but it's definitely not "typical" modeling. I'd say it's probably a legit porn casting..... a quick google search brings up a bunch of porn with that name on it. Mar 13 12 08:12 pm Link $1500 and a professional model is NOT a requirement?? HAH! Mar 14 12 04:33 pm Link If I didn't know any better I'd think they were like back door casting calls or couch casting calls or whatever the hell. Some of the girls in the interviews look pretty erm... freaked out and shaky, plus people tend to be thinking/lying when they move their eyes around a lot. No way to tell for sure which one it is. Plus, they have all the same interviews from a billion years ago and a BUNCH of spelling/grammar errors in the intro. "I hope YOUR enjoy our new design..." (same design as forever ago btw) "work , *W*e" "and *too* prove how *legit* our business is..." No real agency I've seen even says that. And if they have model testimonies, why not show the photogs for "legit"-ness? Also, how does BGC benfit? What would they use the pictures for? 1.5k lost for most likely ...ok, crappy photos for... I've applied 5x myself, because you do that with real agencies, apply at dif times, plus I'm young and pretty, right? I applied twice when I was 17 out on a limb, and 3 times when I was 18, and they never replied back. Out of my own arrogance I decided they were a scam because I'm too gorgeous to pass up. This might also help: http://www.statscrop.com/www/bubblegumcasting.com and take a look at the Websites Hosted On Same Network - Analysis. Websites such as, "girlsdoporn.net" and "bigblkbutts.com" are under the same server, (ex: GoDaddy), but there's only 18 other sites, so it looks like this is just a porn host for the most part. Mar 29 12 05:25 pm Link This URL is a phishing site. Once you enter your info, you're their new target for Nigerian scams and crap like that.... Just say'n. Mar 29 12 05:37 pm Link One of the biggest clues as to whether or not an agency or casting website is a scam is by checking their contact information. If they don't display a real, physical address or phone number you can pretty much be assured that it's a scam. The website that was mentioned in the OP doesn't display ANY contact information other than an email address, yet they want people to divulge quite a bit of their own personal information to contact them. My advice. Keep away. It's a scam. Mar 29 12 05:47 pm Link SayCheeZ! wrote: +1 They post on CL in Las Vegas too. Total scam. Mar 29 12 05:55 pm Link I love the "model references" videos on the site! I've never seen anything like that in my LIFE. LOL! WHY would a legitimate agency need to have models testifying that they are "not creepy" and recommend you work with them? Also - what client would go ANYWHERE NEAR an agency that seems to be using it's entire website to recruit instead of promote models? Where is their client list? Where is their MODEL list? Upload your photos for them? So they can use them on their other sites? MANY red flags. Mar 29 12 05:58 pm Link I am not sure if this site but I did submit information to this site, (while replying to other casting calls) and a week later received a email confirming I was chosen to model for a "BIG LOS ANGELES SHOOT!" it was very hyped out to the point were it seemed to good to be true. They told me I would be paid $1,500 for the job. Being very skeptical by the email I asked for further details. They kept telling me they couldn't release any more information. Yet they couldn't EVEN GIVE ME A CONTACT PHONE NUMBER! The photographer kept telling me he was out of the country on a job. I researched his name and never found a portfolio or any references linked to his name and "photography". Not even a single match came up. All of a sudden I received a envelope in the mail with NO RETURN ADDRESS and NO LETTER OR INFORMATION INSIDE JUST (3) travelers check for $500 each. Later that day I received a text from "these people who casted me" pushing me to cash these check so "I could pay my make-up artist which they hired". I tried calling the number and found out it was a online SMS system not a real cell phone. I decided to go to the police station with the checks and their info. The fraud department investigated the email, the number and the checks. They explained that these people purchase checks with other people's stolen information then want to get your account information when you deposit the checks then suck your account out too. Hope this helps, good luck and be blessed/safe. Aug 24 12 05:22 pm Link It's porn. When I first started modeling I fell for it too, but the guy who was running it (or at least, the part that I responded to) was at least up front about it when I contacted him. Aug 24 12 06:58 pm Link Were do you think the porn industry gets all of it's fresh meat? $1,500.00 is the going rate! Aug 24 12 07:04 pm Link Shannon Haley wrote: The CL link is now 404. The website is so amateurish that, even if they are legit, they are not worth working with. Aug 25 12 12:47 am Link It's casting couch porn. Aug 30 12 06:44 pm Link Shannon Haley wrote: Chew Shannon chew! lol sorry, just had to throw a parody of that line from Forrest Gump here. Um, yeah, stay away, it's a scam. But hey, if you feel like chewing gum for your own reasons, you have my blessing (yeah like you need it! lol) Sep 07 12 05:32 pm Link It's porn. Not a scam. Sep 07 12 11:17 pm Link OMFG the girls in the model references segment look scared as hell, one looks like she's gonna cry any second. terrifying!! run away!!! Sep 08 12 03:43 pm Link Bow-Chicka-Bow-Bow You know it's a bad sign when the "photographer" describes himself as "disease-free." Sep 08 12 03:59 pm Link It's a Porn Casting Sep 08 12 05:30 pm Link It's cheap, low, bad porn wannabe alright. No Stoya, no Sasha Grey, no Kayden Kross. Just a bunch of everyday homies. In fact, Dare Dorm and College Rules have better looking 'models' than them. Sep 08 12 05:45 pm Link OP left the building. That's like two or three today.
