Do you guys feel as special as I do to receive a copy/paste tag from a certain model?

I mean....I admire her gumption, but, I'm left with the feeling that my work doesn't matter, just my wallet.

https://i.ytimg.com/vi/nTgK4bNjZxg/0.jpg

And I checked....same message is copy/pasted on your profiles too, so I thought it was pertinent commentary.  I'm going to go remove mine to feel better about myself.  wink

be careful of the police as thats outing someone.... which i feel is perfectly acceptable if people are dumb or asshats,  but nonetheless you dont want someone elses spam to get you brigged for not eating it up with a spoon  smile

there are a lot of broke girls or desperate photogs that spam everyone when they are traveling... its like casting a net in hope you catch anything at all because you havent had a real bite for weeks......  i've never had to do it thankfully,  but i can certainly see that it probably works for some people which is why many keep doing it.  ::shrugs::

never heard of this lady,  shes clearly adorable and experienced and shes worked with many locals in trade and is probably looking to expand that list and loves your work as much as a couple other peoples ... or shes hoping by spamming people that she will get offers to pay her and thought you deserved that honor... who knows...

i gave up trying to understand bad business practices a decade ago in this industry lol

No Po Po....I'll carry her secret to the grave and protect her honor like a samurai.

So....I find it ironic that on Facebook you can get in trouble for "spamming", reporting is encouraged, but on MM you can get in trouble for pointing at a spammer.

When in Rome....spam.

I brought beer back on a plane once, once.

It exploded midflight, picked up the bag at the carousel, and beer just ran out onto to floor...

well i got an actual message on facebook from her, turns out she is traveling to the area to work with one specific photographer (either she is paying him or trading) and and from what i assume, she is trying to finance the trip...

Agreed.

I often wonder about people who are interested/involved in photography, ( where presumably one of the image's purposes could/should be to advertise a product/event ) getting so worked up over a model or photographer "advertising" themselves.

And before someone screams, "but it's spam!" The whole portrait industry and a large part of the fashion/commercial industry survives/thrives on "direct mail" and "constant contact" e-mail campaigns.

Anyone here find MM on their own, or did you get an e-mail or see a post on another forum???

Actually, Joey, I stumbled across MM way back in '05, looking for just such a site as this one to network with like-minded souls. The other site I found was OMP. After I found MM I dropped OMP like a hot rock.

Just so y'all know: It's colder than a well digger's ass up here. I love it. It's just that the snow is at the higher elevations. No snow here in the valley.

I'm fine with folks posting notices/greetings on my page, traveling models included. Not like it's tough to scroll past it or delete it, if I'm so inclined. Have been a couple that I was interested in working with, no problem with networking.

I saw a post on GG about this "cool new site". In typical old school MM fashion, it was so slow it took me weeks to get signed up, hence the 3910 number instead of something more like Keith's...

There was snow falling when I drove to the airport in Missoula this morning. I hadn't driven in snow in forty years! There was about half an inch on the ground and more coming. Our plane had to be de-iced twice before we could take off. I almost missed my connection in Salt Lake City. I am so happy to be home!
