yes, I'm fully open to constructivist feedback & critique. go on! Mar 14 18 02:19 pm Link Hi dilooska I am not an expert on dance. But in my opinion your dance posing is incredibly graceful and beautiful. I have seen lots of ballet/dance images on MM. But for me, something about your posing stands out. This is my favorite but there are many other fine examples in your port I don't know if the photographers that you have been working with are professionals, serious amateurs, or friends/hobbyists. Perhaps there are some from each category. I can suggest a couple of areas where some improvement might be made, for you to be aware of going forward, and that perhaps could be passed along as constructive criticism. In your "Dance of Hours" Album, there are three shots where your feet are cropped off. It is OK to crop above the knee if the composition calls for that. But when most of the lower leg is showing it is considered bad form not to show the foot. Otherwise, many of the shots in this album are gorgeous with vibrant colors and wonderful posing. In "The Dancer" album, most of those shots are over exposed, meaning that the light on you is too bright. This can easily be, and should be, corrected for future shoots. Your posing is good and the concept is very nice. This might be a good shoot to re-do sometime. On image below from the same set, the exposure (on you, the main subject) is much better as you have moved out of the direct light path. But even on those images where you are directly in the light, exposure could be corrected and the images would be much improved. Overall it appears that you enjoy posing and the camera seems to love you! Find better photographers to work with. You have more to offer than you may realize. Whether you branch out into other areas, or remain focused on dance, I look forward to seeing more from you in the future. Mar 15 18 06:26 pm Link Many of the shots seem to be the same thing. Eliminate about half of those especially the ones that cut off your feet and legs. Need more close up shots of your pretty face. Work with better photographers. In some photos the lighting is bad. Some photos appear to be "snapshots". Overall a good start! Mar 22 18 12:51 pm Link I agree with Brian K that you have made a very good start! But I respectfully disagree with his suggestion to remove the images where feet are cropped, at this time. While it is generally acknowledged that cropped-off feet is less than desirable framing, and if this mistake was in a photographer's portfolio it would be a notable negative, in this case I feel that the 3 images linked in my previous post have value. Despite the cropped feet, these images are among your better ones for demonstrating your posing ability and your beauty. Most viewers of those images would not think any less of you as this poor cropping/framing was not done by you. The reason I mentioned this in my first post was so that you could discuss this with that particular photographer if you continue to shoot with him/her, so that it could be corrected for future shoots. Not to suggest that those images should be removed. You are a beginning model working with amateur or hobbyist photographers (at least some of them). I don't think that too many would judge you negatively if a few photographer errors appear in your port at this time. The main thing is that the images you post convey your ability and your beauty, and IMHO those images do. Mar 23 18 12:33 pm Link |
