Hi Melissa,

Kinda shocked that you've gotten no takers on your request, so I'll try to get things started for you.

I love your look and most of your portfolio. It does have some weaknesses, though.

Wonderful lead-in to your portfolio. My favorite image of the whole bunch. Very flattering angle on your lower body. The pose against the wall and your expression are very appealing.

https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/1 … 5949b3.jpg +18, though IMO it might not be so.
Not a flattering angle on most of your body, and much of you is in shadow. One of your weaker images, IMO, and surprising because I'm a big fan of John Carman's work in general.

Too much parasol and not enough you. This would have been more effective as a headshot with less of the parasol showing. Also the overhead lighting shadows much of your face and lights your forehead and nose.

https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/1 … d2781d.jpg +18
Lacks sharpness and the photographer went WAY overboard on the vignetting. Face is way too dark.

I find this shot fascinating for the makeup, leather, bright colors and the attitude. Why the huge black borders?

Love the coy, playful expression. Wonderful bathtime fun.

Not a fan of multiple images being squashed into one slot. It renders the set vulnerable to the weakest image and none of these are particularly memorable. Not well lighted, especially the lower-left one. See how bright the hands are, compared to the rest of you.

A rather nice image, but it could have used some hair-light. The hair disappears into the background.

Not a fan of this image. Bad photoshopping (differences in lighting and sharpness) and editing you into a film classic might or might not be kosher, but it almost feels like a fake tearsheet. (Didn't say it was a tearsheet. Just that it feels like improper portfolio material. I'd appreciate some feedback from more experienced folks on this.)

Miss Mellisa:

I think your portfolio is well above average.  You are well represented in most images, and it shows a lot of your talents.  You have great features, expressions and postures.  They convey an emotion in them.  Well done.  But don't stop there... keep on striving, its work, but its worth it.

Best Regards,

B

Looking through your portfolio, you have variety and have definitely worked with some creative minded photographers. I read the comment about the Wizard of Oz shot and I totally disagree. You took a classic and put your own spin on it. "bravo".
Now what I will give you for food for thought as to what I look for when I open a model's portfolio is that I look at expressions. And if I can visually move my eyes from photo to photo and see the same exact expression as if it is following me through the portfolio, I tend to think that as a limitation of range. Your portfolio have some of those. I always suggest to models to just get a hand mirror and when you are sitting at home at night or laying in bed, use that mirror to find your ranges and know what looks good for you so you can store it in your memory. Good luck going forward.

Thank you. And that is definitely something I will work on ❤

Hi Melissa, Pretty look. I'd suggest images without all the plastic photoshop look and unless doing bridal to couple shots you don't want wedding and engagement rings on ever. They distract as do rings. Some rings work for the Gothic, Tattoo work if the model has good body language and hand speak. Keep hands from between legs unless doing a coverup or tugging a garment. Hands distract and are the enemy of effective image along with elbows to knee. Your hands are distracting and not the way you want to cover so study others for you don't want fingers clumped. Hair to wigs not being posed and every image hair needs to be posed correctly and no strands coming down the body by themselves. keep shoulder down at all times. Don't sink in bed and then use hand cover too. You don't want to be chopped up. Many use plywood under bed to keep model from sinking into bed. With real hair you always want up to date dyes. One image is way off and that hurst booking work and breaks your image up which hurts a portfolio when the body is being broken up or cut up,

Very pretty with great features. Tattoos are all very nice and well done. A few simple changes and you'll have even more success. have fun!

Super cute and even hands up front are working. This should be near the top for it will book work and the smile to props all cute!

I like the parasol(?) (I'll call it an umbrella). I think maybe you could next time have it more in a closed position  instead of the way it looks now ( which is basically in a  completely open position) --  so that the eyes (of the viewer) follow the "closing up" umbrella and the umbrella kind of stops at the breast (then your eyes are lead first directly towards and then  right past the umbrella to the breast). But the breast would still not be  quite fully exposed - but instead - they are still being obstructed by the umbrella. That might tease the viewers imagination. It might also give a better sense of what the models naked upper torso might look like - but the viewers imagination must go to work to figure it out.

From what I've seen of your album I'd say you have a desirable form and should get back into Modeling.
