I have thus far rejected all of the requests I have had to be an influenza, for many reasons. But I am wondering how it is viewed in the industry. Is it simply a matter of cultivating specific microbes? Do you really need the most virulent and persistent microbes or can you start small and grow more contagious? Models, do you do "it", and why? Photographers, do you find it increases or decreases the infectability of the model?

I wonder where anti-vaxxers come into play here. My dream is to become a measles when I grow up.

I am worried that anti-bodies might not work so well for models? Measles is a lofty aspiration but worth the effort. I've considered leprosy but it seems slow and a bit messy.

You're going to be hard to spread, slow growing, but also extremely patient and persistent. The young microbes nowadays don't understand the value of patience and hard work. They just want to infect whatever host they can latch onto, spread like wildfire through a population. Problem is, they find themselves without a host pretty quickly. It's sad when that happens. I imagine moderation is key. You want to be adaptable, comfortable laying low for a few thousand years at a time, then ready to rage again when the right host or circumstances pop back up. Measles is smart like that. I want to be smart like Measles.

One strategy might be to quietly evolve into an internal form of measles so that models and photographers don't realize they have it until they see all the bumps on their tongue. By then, it will have spread, most likely from people kissing each other's dogs and their filthy, poop licking mouths.
