But time cannot change the fact that the brave souls who crossed that beach on June 6th forever altered history, that day provided a clear message that good men could triumph over evil. Several of my uncles entered the war in Europe across those beaches, we were blessed, they all came home, raised families and lived long lives. We should NEVER forget the sacrifices of so very many that didnt get that chance. Guess what - that didn't work. The war went on for eight more years. The invasion of Normandy (which, BTW, no one "enjoyed") ended the Second World War in Europe one year later.
