Clare Coleman has been a professional photographer for 10 years. With a senior background in PR and marketing, she has worked with numerous brands and is very experienced in producing exceptional and compelling beauty portraits that tell stories, generate demand for products and celebrate makeup artistry. Whether you're an amateur or professional photographer, this is an invaluable opportunity to learn her skill sets and gain both knowledge and inspiration.


Course Details / Rundown:

1. Minimalist Setup (Natural Look):
The first part of the workshop is focused on learning essential lighting rules and understanding fundamental beauty angles. We will start by creating simple and classic beauty portraits. Clare will introduce a setup using minimal equipment for those who don’t always have access to lots of gear.

2. Commercial Setup (Glam Look):
The second part of the workshop is focused on creating high end commercial beauty shots that sell products and attract customers. Clare will equip you with the skills necessary to work professionally with brands. I will be posing with various makeup, skincare and jewellery products. You will also be taught how to take beauty close ups / parts (e.g. Eyes, lips) so you can sell that lipstick or eyeshadow palette.

3. Creative Setup (Editorial Look):
The final part of the workshop is focused on producing expressive editorial beauty portraits that tell powerful fashion stories. Clare will introduce a range of dramatic lighting effects to help you create innovative, striking and magazine worthy shots. This is the fun and experimental part I'm sure many of you will get carried away by creative ideas.

You'll have access to a full range of lighting techniques and setups applicable to different styles of beauty shoots. You'll gain confidence in giving artistic direction and know exactly what you're looking for next time when shooting portraits with a model.
