We are having technical difficulties. Here's the deal, y'all. The Maitland Art Center is now saying they're also booked on the 27th and just didn't realize it yesterday. The date we are looking at is now February 10th. Soooo... they also want to charge us $350 to be there at all. Of course, that does give us from 3pm to 10pm, but it means that our dear George Lue is the one footing the bill until y'all make some donations to pay him back for his kindness. We are looking into alternatives today in order to keep the January 26th date for the event. There are some other things that I have issues with on this count, but let's hear from you. Do you want the Art Center, or does anyone have some ideas/suggestions for other locations in the area, and who's willing to help check with said locations for permit info, etc.? What say you all?! The first portion of the meet will be at Tolla's Italian Cafe, Tolla's website. Details on time coming shortly. It's on Pennsylvania just off Morse, 3 or 4 blocks from 17-92. 10 minutes from the Center. I plan on putting up some ghetto signs on the day of so everyone will know where to turn... oooo We're planning on the shoot portion of the M&G being held at the Maitland Art Center from 4-6. If you are interested in shooting in the Temple at the Maitland Art Center at night, there is a $300 fee that we will be spreading around. If you wish to participate in the night shoot, please contact me for further details. We are projecting the cost to be $30 for each participant in the night shoot, though that may go down based on interest. Nov 13 07 01:03 pm Link A few issues for you to ponder: Issue 1 How important is it to you to have a MUA at your disposal for the shoot portion of the greet? Would you be willing to chip in for the services of a MUA or two? If so, how much money would you be willing to chip in? Issue 2 There is a possibility of renting the Maitland Art Center past dark. I say "rent" because there would be a fee for turning on the lights. If you are interested in using the facility after dark and are willing to pitch a few bucks in to do so, please let George, James (SLE) or myself know. If there are enough people who want to so this, we'll make the arrangements. Issue 3 There are a few things that we're going to need to make the day run smoothly. As it is, I plan on bringing as much of those "things" as I can, including directions from Tolla's to the Art Center, bottled water for the Art Center, signs to put around so everyone knows where they're going (yeah, Scott's confusion inspired that one), etc. I'm still looking to get some help from people who don't mind bringing some folding chairs, a couple of lighted mirrors, an extra clothing wrack if you've got one (Craiger's already donating the use of one he has), drinking straws, extension cords and folding tables. And, anything you feel would be helpful. If you'd like to bring something, please let me know so that we can coordinate, and I won't cry over the amount of money I spend to make this happen. I would like to possibly HIRE at least one MUA to be there for the greet, but in order to do so I will need to know that there are people willing to pay for the services, or I will need to collect donations for the services. I know this sounds pushy, but in truth, I honestly expect only half the people who say they're going to come to come, so I'm really just trying to gauge the desire for a pro MUA to be on hand.
